Eleanor joined Simcocks in September 2025, where she is undertaking her Articles en route to becoming a Manx Advocate. She was born and educated in the Isle of Man before going to the University of York to obtain a law degree.

Eleanor ran the Edinburgh Marathon in 2024 and the Manchester Half Marathon in 2023 in aid of Cancer Research UK. She was a member of the university hockey club and its committee during her time at York. In her final year, she was Charity Secretary, which involved organising sporting events for charity.

Zachary is a London-based Consultant to our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. He is an experienced Commercial Chancery barrister called to the bar in England and Wales (2015) with particular experience in Commercial Law, Civil Fraud, Insolvency & Restructuring, Company Law and Shareholders Disputes. He regularly appears in the High Court in London, often acting in disputes in the Insolvency & Companies List and Business List of the Chancery Division and the Queen’s Bench Division. Zachary has also appeared in the Court of Appeal and has experience drafting in the Supreme Court.

Zachary has particular experience in cross-border litigation and has been instructed both as sole counsel and as part of an international legal team in disputes with a connection to the law of the UAE, Luxembourg, Morocco, France, Italy, Spain and the CIS. Such matters include cross-border fraud and restitution claims estimated at c.$250million, a CIS bankruptcy which encompassed debts of the equivalent of c.£40 million, and obtaining a worldwide freezing order covering £5.44m of assets across Luxembourg, among other places.

He is ranked Band 3 for Banking and Finance, and Band 4 for Civil Fraud in the 2025 edition of the Legal 500.

Janice is an associate advocate in the Corporate & Commercial department, specialising in corporate, commercial and trust law.  She has over 20 years of experience as an advocate, during which she has worked both in private practice and in-house with regulated international financial institutions.

Janice has particular experience in providing opinions on Isle of Man companies, advising on internal management governance, regulatory issues, trust disputes and variation of trusts. Chris is an experienced Manx advocate specialising in commercial litigation and employment law and is the most senior lawyer in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution department.

Chris read Law at Magdalene College Cambridge and came to the island in 2000.  He trained at Cains and qualified in 2002, thereafter spending two years working in the property and private client department. He moved to Mann and Partners in 2004 to pursue a career in litigation and employment law.  Appointment as a director followed and for many years, Chris dealt with a variety of civil and commercial litigation and employment matters, although he continued to use the experience he had gained in commercial property and private client. 

During this period, amongst other things, he acted for the regulator (FSC) in a series of cases and in a major medicine importation case.  On the employment side, he developed a significant employment practice at a time when many Advocates did not specialise in this area – a highlight was obtaining an injunction to prevent two consultants being suspended from the local hospital. Outside of his usual workload, he also developed a special interest in asbestosis and mesothelioma cases and voluntarily assisted Merseyside Asbestos Victim Support Group. 

Chris joined Simcocks in May 2019 as a Consultant to the Litigation & Dispute Resolution department.  As the most senior advocate in the department, recently, Chris has worked mostly on a succession of major commercial litigation matters involving a range of subject matter from challenging a planning strategic plan by judicial review/doleance proceedings, through regulatory work, minority oppression, international commercial disputes to tax litigation (having recently successfully appealed a multi-million pound VAT charge arising out of the disposal of a super yacht).   Chris is regularly engaged in shareholder disputes and sanctions related work arising out of the corporate service sector.  Chris takes pleasure in finding bespoke solutions to difficult problem situations of all kinds.
