The Big Splash dolphin trail launched today, after all the sculptures were placed around the Island yesterday. The Simcocks dolphin, named Secret Garden, looks resplendent in its position in Port St Mary. This is the artist’s inspiration for the design:

“Almost 90% of wild plants and 75% of leading global crops depend on animal pollination. One out of every three mouthfuls of our food depends on pollinators. In short we need to help out our bees! This design celebrates the great work being done to open up more space for wild flowers to grow in the Isle of Man and encourage more people to think about the importance of supporting our bee populations. The secret garden design incorporates a beautiful vibrant purple fence, behind this is a garden of beautiful contemporary wild flowers peeping out over the top. Populated with some very happy bees. The garden rests on a wall of support from our local communities – encapsulated by the different faces in each stone.”
