Simcocks has a new recruit
Peter Taylor has joined the litigation department of Simcocks Advocates as an articled clerk.
Before joining the company he has had a long career in the shipping industry, latterly as a surveyor for the Isle of Man Ship Registry. He has considerable experience in surveying merchant ships, commercial yachts and fishing vessels. Before moving to the Island he served as an engineer officer in the British Merchant Navy, as an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve and worked as a Hull and Machinery Surveyor for Lloyd’s. Peter also has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been a Chartered Engineer for 16 years.
In his new role with the Douglas-based advocates he will be looking to utilise his unique military and civilian maritime experience in any shipping related matters.
Peter, 41, said: “I joined Simcocks because they were keen to recruit people who could use their skills to develop new and existing business. I have found Simcocks an extremely friendly place to work and am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Simcocks chief executive, Phil Games said: “Peter’s combination of relevant work and life experience means he will be able to help create pragmatic and workable resolutions for clients.”
Outside work Peter has had a life long interest in playing and watching Rugby. He also plays golf and the bass guitar.
