A First for Simcocks
Simcocks are the first Manx law firm to open an office in the City of London. This development was prompted by a number of factors. Firstly, approximately 75% of the business Simcocks transact emanates from the City and they felt that in order to provide a quality service it was appropriate to have representation on the doorstep of those who instruct them. Secondly, a disproportionate amount of legal work is directed to other offshore finance centres , most of whom are represented in the City and they felt that rather than sit here waiting for the work to come to them, they should be among those who provide the work to ensure that the Isle of Man receives its fair share of offshore business.
To celebrate the opening of the Simcocks London office a reception was held early in December. Guests included the Chief Minister , Richard Corkill, former Chief Minister Sir Miles Walker accommodated by Lady Walker, together with representatives of the business community from both the City and the Isle of Man.
